Four majors in one international pathway

Students apply through the Department of Global Convergence Studies and later select one of the following Business and Service Management majors. Asia Pathway can help you compare the four directions and confirm the latest study plan before you apply.

Business Administration

Build a broad foundation for understanding organisations, management and commercial decision-making. This option may suit students interested in international business, management, entrepreneurship, marketing or future postgraduate study.

Hotel Management

Focus your academic direction on the hotel and accommodation sector. This pathway may appeal to students interested in guest experience, hotel operations, service management and internationally oriented hospitality careers.

Hotel & Culinary Arts

Connect the hospitality environment with food and culinary service. This option may suit students interested in hotel food service, culinary operations, customer experience and the relationship between food, hospitality and tourism.

Korean Culinary Science and Standards

Explore Korean food through a pathway that connects culinary interests with scientific and standards-based perspectives. This option may appeal to students interested in Korean cuisine, food quality, culinary development and the international growth of Korean food culture.

Choose your major from the second year

FEU admits students through the Department of Global Convergence Studies rather than directly into one of the four Business and Service Management majors. Students then select Business Administration, Hotel Management, Hotel & Culinary Arts, or Korean Culinary Science and Standards from the second year.

This structure gives internationally minded students an opportunity to understand several connected industries before selecting a specialist direction. Asia Pathway can help you compare the options and identify the pathway that best fits your academic background and career interests.

Far East University

Far East University

Gamgok-myeon, Eumseong (Chungcheongbuk-do)

A practical university known for aviation and applied fields. Founded in 1998, Far East University (Geukdong Daehakgyo) is a private university in Gamgok-myeon, Eumseong County, in North Chungcheong Province (Chungcheongbuk-do). Guided by the motto “Sincerity, Creativity, Cooperation,” it focuses on career-oriented education across aviation, hotel and tourism, health sciences, media arts, social sciences, AI and security, with roughly a quarter of its courses taught in English.

A rural campus within reach of Seoul. The campus sits in the countryside of Eumseong County near the Gyeonggi border, beside Gamgok–Janghowon and about an hour from the Seoul area by road, by campus shuttle bus, or by KTX-Eum to Gamgok Janghowon Station. It features modern laboratories and aviation-training facilities — including an Aircraft Exhibition Hall and the Smart K-Tech Center — along with an indoor gymnasium and an on-campus bus terminal.

Strong in aviation and applied technology. Far East University is recognised for aviation, holding approval from Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport as a specialised aircraft-maintenance training institution, and offering programmes spanning flight operation, aviation safety, urban air mobility, hotel management, occupational therapy, police administration, AI computer engineering and cyber-security.

Korean and English language study at the ILEC. International students typically begin at the International Language Education Center (ILEC), which runs a Korean-language course (D-4-1, using Sejong Korean) and an English course (D-4-7, using Cambridge IELTS) across four ten-week terms a year. Tuition is about KRW 4,400,000 per year, and the centre supports students through admission, the Certificate of Admission and the visa process.

On-campus accommodation. The university provides dormitories — Kook-Je Haksa for women and Sung-Ji Haksa for men — in four-person rooms with shared kitchen, laundry, lounge and study spaces, central air-conditioning and Wi-Fi. Fees are set per six-month period and can vary by intake.
